Shear Existence Sanctuary is a not-for-profit animal refuge
and registered charity located in North East Victoria, providing a safe haven to formerly farmed animals in need of love, compassion and kindness.
Established in May 2019 after our first rescue lamb ‘Snowy’ strolled into our lives and taught us lessons we never knew we needed to learn, we have now grown, evolved and welcomed over 70 permanent residents along with rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming many more. The individual animals that find their way to us have often suffered through neglect, abandonment, malnourishment, serious injuries, untreated wounds or infections which leave them compromised, suffering and in pain.
Along with physical ailments, many have endured serious emotional trauma
as a consequence of surviving through intensive factory farming practices, mistreatment or being orphaned. It is our endeavour to provide all that find their way through our gates a safe home, the respect they are worthy of and as much autonomy as possible.
The utmost care is taken to ensure each specific need is met for every resident inclusive of medical treatment, excellent nutrition, and comfortable shelter leaving the days of suffering in their past and magic ones ahead. We strongly believe that all lives are precious, priceless and that someone's worth should never be measured by dollar signs assigned to their life.
