Phoebe

Phoebe-img-01

When people learn that Phoebe was born on a truck destined for the abattoir, most are genuinely shocked. The crowded confines of a transport truck, covered in the faeces and urine of its unwilling inhabitants after a long haul trip down the freeway is no place to give birth, let alone to enter this world, though that is exactly the story of Phoebe and her Mumma.

Although her mother heartbreakingly continued on the transport truck to its final destination, a stroke of compassion led the transport driver to reach out for help. Babies born on transport trucks are not uncommon, being provided a lifeline is a rare occurrence indeed.
Phoebe arrived at the Sanctuary with her new pal Alfie Lamb, who was born on the same truck on that same day. They travelled in the dog box for many hours together before arriving at the sanctuary in the middle of the night covered in faeces and cold, but alive.

Phoebe was a shy little lady with a very fuzzy head who loved her cheeks being scratched. As she grew bigger and older, so too did her sense of independence mature. Although not fearful at all, pats are not Phoebe’s favourite thing, instead she prefers her love expressed via her favourite snacks.

Phoebe is a happy and strong member of the main Sheep flock.
