Tommy

tommy

Sweet and strong little Tommy arrived into sanctuary thanks to a mega team effort facilitated by the amazingness that is Victorian Lamb Rescue, after the farmer made contact with them regarding this sick little boy.
Tommy was suffering with Joint ill (Septic arthritis) in Several joints that requires flushing, scabby mouth (a contagious viral disease), lumpy wool (caused by bacteria infecting the skin) an infected scrotum, tail and ear, a number is abscesses his body and face including a monster in his neck that extended all the way into his jaw which required surgical drainage. He was fly stuck and arrived very dehydrated and underweight.

Tommy was strong and ready to fight his many ailments. He underwent many treatments and another surgery to tend his very progressed joint infections and gradually with time and care, everything began to heal.
Tommy had a delicate, soft and sweet nature, he was adorably cute, it was impossible not to fall head over heels for him, and many people did.

Sadly Tommy was extremely compromised leading him to become critically unwell at just 7 months of age. Despite numerous vet visits, tests and hospital stays, we were unable to bring Tommy back to health. He passed peacefully snuggled up on a heat mat, leaving our hearts a devastated mess. We loved him so dearly and would have done anything for more time. Over the years we reminisce about all the special times, his fighting spirit, and his gentleness in a world that had not been gentle with him. A life gone too soon but forever and deeply loved
