Elka

elka

Sweet and VERY loud Elka was found with no mother nearby to care for her. She had already survived alone through the cold and wet weather that had claimed the lives of 8 tiny paddock mates laying close by. With more poor weather on the way, no time could be wasted getting her to warmth and safety.

Elka loved snuggles and curling up by the fire, often with a feline friend as a bed buddy. As Elka grew bigger, so did her Baa and she was not afraid to use it. Elka would scream for bottles and love, if she knew the humans were near by you bet they were going to give her love and attention, she had us well trained. Elka yelled so much that once she lost her voice and could only silent Baa for several days.

Elka is still loud but finds much comfort in her paddock mates these days. Although she is able bodied, She has suffered intense emotional trauma that leaves her needing more of our time and affections, as such she is a very loved member of our special needs gang. You will often see her hanging out with her pal Aura or lounging near the hay bale. Its been a long process for Elka to settle and we are so proud of just how brave this little lady has been.
