Koda
At approximately 4 weeks old, Koda was found on the side of the road all alone without another sheep in sight. He was noticed by a gentleman travelling home from work and after an extensive but unsuccesful effort to find his flock or a human who knew his origins, he took the frightened Lamb home and sought assistance.
We happily welcomed Koda into care, doing all we could to sooth him and help him accept the bottle of milk that was so different from his mothers teat in which he was used to. After living with his doting and caring mother for 4 long weeks, he was pining for her endlessly. He was such a big strong boy and we could see just how well his mother had cared for him. With lots of cuddles and reassurance, he came to accept our love and care. It would impossible for his ordeal of being orphaned so suddenly to not have lasting impacts and this shows by how close he likes to stick by us when we are around.
These days Koda is a big and strong guy with a quiet demeanour and a happy and well adjusted adult who resides happily with the main flock at the sanctuary
