Gypsy Moon

Born weighing in at 7.7kg, Gypsy Moon is the heaviest newborn Lamb to have entered our care. Weighing twice as much as many newborn lambs, her mother passed away shortly after giving birth unassisted, the strain and damage to her body was just too severe. There are countless Mother Ewes and their babies who suffer and perish during or shortly after birth simply because no assistance was rendered when they desperately needed it.

Gypsy absolutely loved her bottles and wasn’t afraid to scream for one from the top of her lungs, afterwards jumping up on the couch for a snuggle with her humans. Napping was a favourite pass time as was playing with her Lamb siblings. She was clumsy, cute and very chilled out. These days Gypsy has grown from a giant Lamb into a giant sheep, she is one of the biggest flock members. Miss Moon is still fond of a nap and often terrifies the Sanctuary humans by being so relaxed during her day sleeps that she appears deceased, refusing to open her eyes until we shake her awake. She is one of the more moody flock members, she may want to be showered with love or left completely alone and lovingly respect her boundaries and requests for affection.

Gypsy enjoys spending her days as a valued member of the main sheep flock.
