Merry and Pippin

Tiny twin brothers, Merry and Pippin found themselves orphaned after their mother passed soon after their birth, she sadly wasn’t able to recover from the troublesome labour. After being urgently escorted to the Sanctuary, the surprisingly bright and strong little boys happily drank their bottle, found the bed in front of the fire and settled into sanctuary life with speed.

It wasn’t long before our new resident hobbits showed us just how appropriately they named they are, wherever Merry and Pippin were, mischief was sure to follow. Both boys would run away from us when we attempted to change their nappies, not out of fear but with legs kicking in amusement. Merry had a reputation for being a serious biter while Pippin was the fastest guy in town. Over the years Merry and Pippin have mellowed and calmed significantly, though their mischievous nature still appears from time to time, as does Merry’s penchant for biting. They have also grown into chunky boys with Merry being the bigger of the twins and Pippin being the loudest.

The twins remain close pals and live their lives peacefully with the main sheep flock
